Standards & regulations
What are the objectives of REACH?
To protect human health and the environment from the potential risks of chemical substances
or in a mixture, from the supplier to the final customer;
Strengthen the competitiveness of the industry, in particular the chemical industry.
Without knowledge of the substances used, it is forbidden to put them on the market.
Professionals must now register their substances in order to describe the potential risks; after diagnosis, either the substances
either pose no risk or the risk is controlled and they can be used, or they present certain risks and their use is regulated or even prohibited.
REACH is a European regulation (regulation n°1907/2006)
which came into force in 2007 to secure the manufacture
and use of chemical substances in the
European industry.
